Our Jewish High Holy Days are this week, so I have some things in my kitchen that we will be using for our ceremonial family dinner on Thursday night: We will be dipping Apples in honey in hopes of a sweet new year and eating the seeds of a pomegranate to remind us to do good deeds in the coming year. I only use my crystal honey jar on this holiday.
I bought this Asian noodle bowl for soup, and it came with a noodle spoon and chopsticks. I love the colors.
I picked up some organic maple syrup at Trader Joe's where it is about half the price of any where else in this area.

When I visited Hilton Head, SC last month, they have lots of cute little tourist traps I mean shops and I treated myself to this lovely hand painted wooden spoon. It has a teaspoon on one end and a tablespoon on the other. That's all I could fit in my carry on to go home on the plane.
I've started baking muffins again, so I decided to get some chlorine-free paper baking cups.

We are olive lovers and these dried olives from Turkey are really delicious.

A lovely tasting green tea. I've been reading that green tea is supposed to be good for many ailments, but it does have caffeine.
Stuffed grape leaves for the holiday. The tiny peppers are very mildly /hot and are from a friends garden.

Deletethis all looks wonderful, i adore that bowl as well. i have a very unhealthy addiction to "bowls". i don't know when it started or how many i have...all i can say is, i have way too many!! i always use cupcake liners when i make muffins or cupcakes, i know not everyone does!! the fresh cut flowers are beautiful!!

DeleteAll your food looks really good! I drank green tea for a while and I found it really stained my tea cups so I was a bit worried what it might do to my teeth. I don't have that problem with regular tea. I like that comment about tourist traps. lol. We have actually stopped into South of the Border when traveling down to Florida. That's 20 minutes we'll never get back in time. lol andrea

ReplyDeleteI buy the maple syrup but not too often. It's expensive and once opened needs to be used rather quickly. Even from the fridge.

The honey jar is one of my favorite pieces. It didn't show too well in the pick. Maple syrup is expensive here too. Trader Joe's is the only semi reasonable place to buy it.
