Nori is one of the mildest and tastiest seaweeds.
It provides many valuable nutrients such as bioavailable iron, iodine, essential fatty acids, a variety of important minerals, and Vitamin C.
How to Buy And Store Nori
I buy it in packages of 12 sheets at Whole Foods Markets. After opening, it should be kept air tight and used within 2 weeks. If you need to keep it longer, put it in the freezer to keep it fresh, remove a sheet at a time.
Toasting Nori
My friend Vicki told me that toasting Nori in the toaster oven for 1 minute will crisp it up and make it very tasty for snacking. I tried it and loved it! Thanks Vic!
Nori Flakes:
You can make your own.
To add to soup or salads, simply put a few sheets of nori into the blender and blend into flakes. Use these nori flakes to add to soups or salads.
Wraps
Sheets of nori can be used to make wraps. Low in calories, they make great wraps. I usually run a sheet under water for a few seconds before I use it for a wrap. I find softening it with a little water makes it softer and less chewy to eat.
Wraps:
Remember this little gadget? It works great for filling wraps.
I use zucchini, carrot, and cucumber to fill my wrap. I could also use some marinated tofu if I want some protein.
After wetting one sheet, I lay it flat and then fill it diagonally.
I might dip it in a little Gluten-free soy sauce or Tamari sauce.
Well that kinds of "wraps up" this post!
I know this has amazing health benefits and I really wanted to like this product but I just don't.
