What's new in my kitchen for August? I'm in my home in Pennsylvania for 5 months during the summer where I have a house and a spacious kitchen.
I'm using this electric lemon juicer (above) which speeds up juicing my lemons for recipes that call for lots of fresh lemon juice such as vegan stuffed grape leaves (link) or lemony Greek stuffed tomatoes (link) which are perfect to make with summer tomatoes.
I absolutely love my William Sonoma dish towels which are large, cotton and absorbent. They have a little loop to hang them too.
Interestingly, I do more entertaining in my Florida condo, but I still love to buy some new serving pieces during the summer that I probably don't need.
Maybe they'll go with me to Florida where I don't really have space to keep them in my small compact condo kitchen.
I couldn't resist this cheerful yellow bowl. I'm thinking it will be great for potato salad. Sorry about the background. I was in a hurry and took the shots on a very busy tablecloth!
The beautiful wooden board below has a blue acrylic coating near the handle that in person looks translucent and very pretty.
It will make a wonderful charcuterie board or
maybe I'll give it as a gift - or maybe not!
The background does not do these beautiful placemats below any justice. I need to retake the pic on a dark background. The placemats are actually gold colored and I think will make a beautiful table setting on a solid tablecloth.
Below is a great find for the Instant Pot.
I was visiting my friend Laura, and I saw her using one of these incredible steamer baskets!
I went home and ordered one from Amazon immediately!
You can it here: Steamer Basket on Amazon
This steamer basket holds a significant amount of veggies for steaming and is very easy to remove once it's done steaming.
It's available in a few sizes to fit any size Instant Pot. I'm loving it.

I only use 2 functions of IP, that's soup and stew. Love those cute cups!
ReplyDeleteThat wooden board really is stunning!
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice selection of items! Unless something breaks, I just keep using the ones I've had for years.
ReplyDeleteCool IP steamer! I use the rack a lot, but this gadget seems like it's be more effective.
ReplyDeleteI think that yellow bowl looks beautiful with the blue and yellow cloth! Nice new stuff, though I can see how it’s challenging to have two homes and two kitchens.
ReplyDeletebest, mae at maefood.blogspot.com
The wood cutting board is gorgeous. Good dish towels make life so much better don't they?
ReplyDeleteI love the yellow bowl and the placemats are so pretty. I think you definitely need to keep the board - it's fab!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE those bowls, particularly with that background, I would not have been able to resist them either. Whether you needed them or not, you NEEDED them, if you now what I mean. It's always fun to get something new. I also love those placements. Nice finds!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun post! That lemon juicer is great -- I could use one of those with all the lemon things I make. And that blue and yellow with the bowl? Oh, one of my favorite color combos!
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful yellow bowl!!.......Abrazotes, Marcela
ReplyDeleteI can see why you couldn't resist that yellow bowl! It's so cheerful, as is the pineapple one below it. And I agree that it would be perfect for your Florida kitchen! 💛💛💛
ReplyDeleteI love the handle on that steamer basket! And to my eye, the pattern play of the yellow bowl against the blue and yellow tablecloth is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteyou have some lovely things here Judee. Love that bowl and the tablecloth! I have an electric juicer too but i so rarely use it these days. And that vegie steamer looks the bomb. I love a good tea towel (I have many) and i do love the ones with hanging loops. So useful. Thanks for joining in IMK, and for using the logo!
ReplyDeleteLove that wooden board.
ReplyDeleteAnd the pretty yellow bowl too.
Hugs and blessings, Judee
I have just been looking at chopping boards which has a resin insert.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I love your table cloth. I have been looking for a platter that looks similar to your tablecloth! Off to google some more!
Watching birds is so much fun! Your bird feeder is so pretty... and I love that you made it yourself!
ReplyDeleteLove the cheerful bowl and agree a potato salad would look wonderful in it. I think you should keep the wooden board as they are so handy at serving all sorts of food :)
ReplyDeleteWhere to start. WS dish towels are the best and last forever! You have me sold on that steamer basket! I keep thinking I will have to invest in a new citrus juicer. Mine is over 30 years old! I couldn't live without it though.
ReplyDeleteLoving your new kitchen additions! Especially that lemon plate and pineapple bowl, just so cheery and adorable! I can imagine it being the centrepiece of a party
