Have you ever had an Italian "Bellini" Cocktail?
It's an incredible drink made with fresh summer peaches and mixed with prosecco. (I made a virgin version too that I mix with seltzer for the kids).
The first time I was introduced to a beautiful Bellini cocktail was many years ago at the exquisite Bellini Bar inside of the The Venetian Resort in Las Vegas. It was a memorable cocktail and memorable experience!
Yet, I had totally forgotten about Bellinis until I saw a post the other day on Roz's blog, La Bella Vita !
Roz authors an incredible blog that focuses on classic Italian cuisine. Her exquisite photos and wonderful recipes are always worth the visit! A recent post featured a classic Italian Bellini recipe with beautiful photos and information about the history and origin of Bellinis from Venice, Italy.
Since it's peach season in New Jersey and the farmer's markets are flourishing with big luscious looking peaches, I decided to make a batch of Bellinis for a dinner the other night when we ate on the deck with my older son's family. I made alcoholic Bellinis for the four adults and virgin Bellinis for the grandkids.
Everyone was thrilled with the flavor from the local fresh peaches. It was a hot humid evening and we totally enjoyed our beautiful looking and absolutely delicious Italian drink!
Want the easy recipe?
I going to send you over to Roz's blog for the classic Italian recipe. Use this link: La Bella Vita
We enjoyed our Bellinis and I'm sure you will too. Thanks so much Roz !

I have never had one but now you have me crave one! I love Rozs recipes.
ReplyDeleteI like Roz's recipes too and of course I certainly enjoy your blog and recipes as well especially your salads and health conscious baking!
DeleteI do like these. I have been known to make fake bellinis with peach schnapps and sparkling wine.
ReplyDeleteMarg,
DeleteThe "fake" ones sound pretty good to me! I'll keep your idea in mind when it's not peach season.. thanks
I don't think I've had one before, but I love peaches, and I love Prosecco.
ReplyDeleteJeff,
DeleteIf you love peaches and Prosecco then this sounds like a good match for you! Roz also makes a fresh Strawberry puree Bellini!
Here in south Florida we use home-grown mangoes for for Margaritas and Daiquiris (smoothies for the kids).
ReplyDeleteHi Kenneth,
DeleteI love the Florida mangoes and what a great idea to use them for mixed drinks!
I've never had a Peach Bellini ... but you sold me on it completely. I too love peaches and prosecco ... so what am I waiting for?! I'll give it a try !
ReplyDeleteYes, during peach season peaches are so delicious and this fun cocktail is really easy..

We seem to have had a very prolific peach season this year and we have been getting lots of peaches from a near-by farm.
DeleteOkay, so I bought local peaches yesterday and I have a bottle of prosecco in the fridge. Bring on the cocktail!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Judee,
ReplyDeleteI'm sooooo glad that you enjoyed your homemade Bellini's. I liked how you made them for the kids without the prosecco. I bet that made them feel special! I'd love to try New Jersey peaches someday! Thanks for the shout out! You're so kind!
Roz, yes I really enjoyed them and I always enjoy your recipes and wonderful photos! Thank you!
DeleteThose bellinis look delicious! I love fresh peaches, especially those from the local farmers market. Thanks for sharing. I found your blog through a comment you left on Nancy's Colors4Health.

ReplyDeleteThis looks like quite a nice virgin drink... and with peaches it would be so delicious and sweet.
ReplyDeleteWhat a splendid way to use peaches! Thanks for sharing, Judee. We always have prosecco on hand. Now we just need to get a new batch of peaches. :-)
