Spinach Dal Soup in the Instant Pot (or Not)

Spinach Dal, known in India as Palak Dal, is a hearty soup made with channa dal or yellow split peas. Dal (also spelled as daal or dahl) is a Hindi word for dried split lentils, dried peas, or dried beans. Dal may refer to the legume itself or the finished recipe.

I made this vegan soup in a 6 qt. Instant Pot DUO60 6 Qt. It cooked for 16 minutes, I let the pressure release naturally, and it was delicious. It can also be made in a soup pot on the stove top.

Instant Pot Mushroom Soup in 8 minutes

I love mushroom soup, but I prefer mine broth-like and not creamy. This wonderful Asian style recipe can be cooked in 8 minutes in the Instant Pot and will not disappoint. (Of course experienced Instant Pot users know that it requires a little time to heat up and release steam as well as cook).
If you don't have an Instant Pot it can cook on the stove top covered for about an hour.

One skillet broccoli parmesan is one of those recipes that follow the rule that necessity is the mother of invention. 

I went out with my family one night to a local Italian restaurant. Although they had gluten free pizza and gluten free pasta on the menu, I just didn't want to eat a high carbohydrate meal. Being a vegetarian, there was little else I could eat. I asked the chef if he could make me a dish with broccoli, marinara sauce, and cheese. He did and it was delicious!

Moroccan Appetizers at Casablanca Restaurant near Doylestown, Pa

We had delicious Moroccan appetizers and dinner that was gluten free at Casablanca restaurant in Warrington/Warminster Pennsylvania near Doylestown, Pa.

We were looking for someplace different to celebrate my husband's big birthday! The grandkids are ages 2, 7, and 11. I wanted somewhere that was casual and the kids could move around a little, something a little exotic, and something that could accommodate both my vegetarian and gluten free needs. Casablanca seemed to be the perfect place.
