Detox , weight loss, and blood sugar balancer drink Make it in your kitchen |
How many chemicals are you exposed to in a day? Toxins and chemicals are everywhere. We are exposed to them from pollution, the food we eat, the air we breathe, in our cosmetics, cleaning supplies, in our water, etc. etc
.
If we don't do something to help remove the toxins from our bodies, they can be stored in our system and potentially make us unhealthy.
In addition, toxins can slow down weight loss. Do I have your attention now.?
The following information is from
Therese Patterson of Edible Nature Organic Foods wrote and article
In her article, She wrote and I quote:
"The body retains fats as a way to protect the vital organs in the body from the toxins that we ingest (and create through stress). Body fat accumulation, especially around the mid section, is a visible sign of toxic build up and a good indication that the liver is not functioning as efficiently as it should.
So when we detoxify and cleanse the body of toxins, we give the body a chance to repair and strengthen itself - and when the toxins disappear, guess what happens to the protective layer of fat...yes, that disappears too!"
I have always known that eating greens like kale, collards, romaine, etc. helps you detoxify some of the fats, chemicals, and toxins we are exposed to.
What about the drink??
Recently, I found a video on You tube that taught about a detox and weight loss drink that you can make in your kitchen. ( It also helps to balance blood sugar levels as well)
I was very impressed with the information and the author , Dr. Josh Axe.
I decided to try his detox and weight loss drink.
Surprisingly, it tastes good to me, takes only minutes to make, and is made from things I keep in my kitchen.
I just started drinking it two days ago, so I will report back in 30 days.
Here are some of the ingredients in what Dr. Axe calls his " Secret Formula"
- Apple Cider Vinegar- full of enzymes, helps balanace ph and blood sugar
- Lemon Juice- high in Vit C ; helps alkalize the body ( which is essential to fighting disease)
- Cinnamon- #1 Antioxidant, helps balance blood sugar levels
- The formula is in the video

I canNOT hack apple cider vinegar, ha ha! I've tried and just cannot do a tablespoon. Maybe I'll try with a teaspoon or two and work my way up. Thank you so much for sharing, I thought the video was really informative and interesting!
ReplyDeleteEvelyn,
DeleteI totally felt the same way as you. I have tried it before and could not swallow it .
Somehow with the lemon, cinnamon, and stevia- It tasted fine.. thanks for your comment.
Great post....I've pinned it and now I'll watch the video. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this!
ReplyDeleteHow much water do you add to it? He didn't mention that in the video.

ReplyDeleteI guess I'm a strange bird...I love apple cider vinegar! (Of course, I used to drink dill pickle juice from the jar as a child) ACV is supposed to be good for so many things, I started drinking it (a T. with water and sometimes honey) b/c it is supposed to prevent kidney stones...never want to go through that again!
ReplyDeleteI'm always very skeptical of detox drinks and the claims they make. I'm excited to hear how your 30 days on this detox drink works out! I found you on Thank Your Body Thursday. My post is Choc Chip Cookie Dough Brownies. Check it out here: http://noskinnies.com/blog/2013/5/13/chocolate-chip-cookie-dough-brownies-vegan-gluten-free
ReplyDeleteI have always wanted to try a good detox drink. not sure how well I will handle the apple cider vinegar, but maybe I will give it a go.
ReplyDeleteStart with a small amount and build. Add your stevia to help with the taste
DeleteSounds great and similar to one that I use.
ReplyDeletethis one adds the cider vinegar so that is a must try
Yes, Apple Cider vinegar is excellent for balancing ph in the body. Give it a try
DeleteDo you eat and drink this?
ReplyDeleteThis is a drink. Kind of like a cinnamon lemonade. Watch the video for how to make it.
DeleteInteresting. I've read about a lot of detox drinks and the apple cider vinegar is in all of them. Thanks for the info!
ReplyDeleteMy BIL is a diabetic and swears by the apple-cider vinegar. I pass on your detox drink to him.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a lovely weekend.
Sam
I have been drinking this for months now and haven't lost a pound.
ReplyDeleteI do drink it because it is healthy and I really, really like it, although I went through a stage where I felt sick after drinking it, so I stopped for a while, but now I am back to it, and everything is fine.
It is not a miracle drink, that's for sure. If you want to loose weight you should be more active and switch to a better diet. This drink might boost the process of loosing weight but it will not cause it on its own!
Thanks for the comment. I've only been on it a week so I'll let you know my feedback later on
DeleteI am intrigued. I am also looking forward to your report! May give this a try! I appreciate you sharing with Home and Garden Thursday,
ReplyDeleteKathy
Very interesting! I haven't tried ACV straight up yet, but have friends who do and believe in the benefits! I think its time I try! Thanks for linking up at our Gluten Free Fridays party! I have tweeted and pinned your entry to our Gluten Free Fridays board on Pinterest! :)
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what you are bringing to the party this week! We have another GREAT giveaway!

I already drink lemon juice and apple cider vinegar (raw and organic). When I am exposed to many germs and such I add 5000 BTU cayenne powder 1/8 tsp or higher. I will try to add cinnamon. I love cinnamon. :)
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to hear your results!! I'm gonna try it, and thanks for sharing the video!!!!
ReplyDeleteOkay that is interesting... my question is, how does it TASTE?
ReplyDeleteJo-Lynne ,.
ReplyDeleteGood question! Apple Cider Vinegar can be sour despite how fabulous it is for your body.
Start slowly with the apple cider vinegar and definitely use the stevia.. then I actually like it!
This looks like a really good drink. I think this is worth a try. I just overcame my mood swings because of 5-htp. I just wanted to continue losing weight.
ReplyDeleteEating sensibly and having a healthy balanced diet is the healthy way to lose weight naturally. Safe natural weight loss shouldn't mean starvation- depriving yourself of food can have an opposite effect.

I drink lemon juice in warm water daily. Now I am taking ACV with honey and a little water. It will be interesting to see if combining them will assist with some weight I want to lose for the holiday season.
ReplyDeleteI find it helps especially if you also watch what you it. It allows you to be a little more indulgent
DeleteUnless it is wine or rice vinegar, I can't drink it either. It always reminds me of a trash can small in its flavor lol. I started out with smaller doses of the ACV and worked my way up to a tolerance. It was pretty bad at first.
ReplyDeleteTakes time.
I know what you mean. It is an acquired taste and sometimes I can tolerate better than others. I'm good with it now.
DeleteI'll have to give this a try. I've always struggled with weight loss and this may help with that and my diabetes too.
ReplyDeleteCheck with your doctor, but I think it could be helpful.
DeleteI'm not seeing a video
ReplyDeleteIt's at the bottom of the page with a pic of Dr. Axe
DeleteExcellent post. This drink works. Dr Axe knows what he is talking about.
ReplyDeletethanks for stopping by Mark. I also like Dr. Axe's suggestions.
