I'm always looking for something good to watch on Netflix or Prime, so I thought I would share the Nexflix shows that I'm watching with my readers.
I enjoyed this fast paced legal drama starring Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Mickey Haller (the LincolnLawyer). Mickey Haller, an attorney known to work from his car (a Lincoln), inherits a colleague's law practice and court cases- including a high profile murder mystery case.
After re-entering society after a considerable amount of time in rehab, Mickey needs this opportunity to restore his reputation and brilliance. His energy and desperation are the driving forces behind his dedication to winning his client's cases and makes for an exciting 10 series show. Of course there is some romance with his former wife and an attempt to build a relationship with his teenage daughter. Worth watching. I've attached the official trailer.
The Beauty Queen of Jerusalem- Netflix
If you liked Michael Alomi as the son in Shitzel, you will love him as Gabriel Armoza, the son, husband, father, and lover in this multi generational historical fiction TV series. The story begins in the early 1900's in Jerusalem.
The melodrama explores the lives of a growing Ladino Jewish family experiencing Jerusalem initially living under the rule of the Ottoman Empire, then the British Mandate, and finally Israel's War of Independence.
The spell binding story deals with political conflicts, personal conflicts, lots of love triangles as well as the challenges and tragedies of war.
I watched in English and was glued to my set for a few days straight as I binged the first exciting 8 episodes that came out in May. The second part of the series is due to air in July. Do I recommend it - Oh Yes!
I could only find a trailer with sub titles, but I was able to watch the series in English
Anatomy of a Scandal
I watched this last month and enjoyed it. I definitely would recommend it - great cast and acting and lots of thought provoking excitement.
The trailer says,
Privilege is about to be put on trial…Based on the bestselling novel by Sarah Vaughan, “Anatomy of a Scandal” is an insightful and suspenseful series about privilege and sexual consent. From the creator of “Big Little Lies” and “The Undoing”, this six-part series stars Sienna Miller, Michelle Dockery, Rupert Friend, Naomi Scott and Josette Simon
Don't forget to make some popcorn while you watch... Here is a link to a super easy way to pop pop corn kernels ( I use organic) in a bowl in your microwave. See how I do it.
We just finished The Lincoln Lawyer two days ago :-) We also enjoyed the Anatomy of a Scandal . My husband is watching The Strange Thing and Star Trek now...not really my thing though.
ReplyDeleteInteresting reviews! The multi-generation Jerusalem family sounds very good.

ReplyDeleteWe have Netflix, but seldom watch TV. Last we watched was stupid (academy award nominee). Good one is Trial of Chicago 7
One of these days, when I run out of things to watch on Hulu, HBO, and Amazon Prime, I'll get around to getting Netflix. My sister is always telling me about all the great shows on it. Your picks sound good too, especially Anatomy of a Scandal. I enjoyed Big Little Lies and The Undoing, so I think I'd like it. :)
ReplyDeleteBy the way, thanks for asking where I got the yellow dress in my strawberry post. Surprise, surprise, it's Kohl's. :)
We just got NetFlix back this weekend for Stranger Things and finished it. Looking forward to July when they air the last bit. Love, love, love organic popcorn. I've used all kinds but we do find that the organic almost always tastes better, too.
ReplyDeletePleased you are enjoying these.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
